Julie Wright Biography

Julie Wright is an American award-winning journalist who is currently working for WJLA-TV in Washington DC as a news anchor and a co-host.

She joined this career back in April 2015. Wright is hosting Good Morning Washington and Let’s Talk Live on News Channel 8.
From country girl to world traveller, teacher and poet, Julie Wright takes us through the mystery of writing, imagination and ideas.

She left her neighborhood and became an airborne reporter in Baltimore.

Before she moved to Washington DC to report for Fox 5 morning news, she had been selected to fly in the DMV within a year. For almost 14 years in the DMV, Wright has been telling people where to go and where not to go on a daily basis.

She has been covering political meetings, sporting events, street closures, and the DC Sniper attacks in 2002.

Outside of her work, Wright is an enthusiastic runner and she is very passionate about her pet beagle, Bailey.
